structure stabliization, underpinningUnderpinning – A general term for supports placed under a structure to stabilize, lift and control movement. Underpinning can take the form of concrete pilings, steel pins, steel helical or wooden timbers.

Conventional Wood Frame Adjustments – Generally referred to as, Shim and Shore, this is a process of re-adjusting and re-supporting the existing pier support system of a wood framed home. Shim and Shoring can be used to re-adjust the structure after years of pier movement caused by ground water and/or surface settlement. Conventional wood frame adjustments can be used in conjunction with underpinning.

Slab-Jacking – The process of injecting grout underneath a structure, such as a driveway, pool deck, patio or home that is experiencing settlement, severe cracking or separation. Slab-jacking can be used in conjunction with underpinning.

Drainage - Poor drainage systems or lack thereof can be a culprit of surface settlement. Above ground water, as well as underground water, can quickly undermine any foundation, causing settlement and damage to the structure.
